Who is BYOU Coaching for?
BYOU coaching is for any woman who finds it hard to put the oxygen mask on herself before she places it on her loved ones.Ā
For the past eight years, Iāve been a stay-at-home mom for a special needs child. I know how it feels to place the oxygen mask on myself last. For the past five years, I had to work hard on building healthy habits so that I can make myself a priority. A healing journey is hard, lonely, and filled with self-doubt. But it can be done.Ā Think of me as your guide in this self-healing journey of yours. When I was trying to change my life five years back, it was lonely. But, Iām glad I stuck with it. Because now when I go through extreme stressful situations, itās my healthy habits that help me remain calm during the storm.
I believe in honesty with kindness, and thatās what you will get from me. I also believe Iāve no right to be judgemental about another humanās actions. Conversations with me will be a safe space. I believe the purpose of our life is to know, really know ourselves, and how we relate to people and the world.Ā If youād like to know my conversation style and personality, all you have to do is read myĀ blog pageĀ and check out myĀ Instagram.
My mission is: I want every woman I work with to know she is enough as she is. This may seem like a paradox. Why change if you are enough? Because change happens as we learn to accept ourselves. Most women I know are walking around the world thinking they are not enough, they are not doing enough, and I want to change this.Ā
I want you to be your own unicorn. No waiting around for someone else to give you your worth. You are going to take your power back. And you are worthy, right now, just as you are.Ā

Your Own Unicorn CoachingĀ Pillars
Be Your Own Unicorn Coaching is based on four pillars. These four pillars have helped me transform my life so that I can live as my authentic self.

Ā
Under each pillar, I have a list of tasks or habits Iāve done that have helped me fall in love with myself. Iām constantly adding and removing items from this list. I want it to be a flexible list that can be customized for me and others depending on the phases of life we are in. A flexible list for this ever changing, impermanent life.Ā

Hi Everybody!
Iām Sajna Abdul
I guess this is where I mention all my qualifications. Itās kind of boring, Iāve multiple business degrees thatās gathering dust, even an MBA.Ā Hereās something interesting about me: I did a deadlift of 225 pounds for my 40th birthday.
Iāve been on a self-healing journey for the past seven years. Iāve changed my diet since Iāve learned how food affects our mental health. Since the summer of 2017, Iāve been on a gluten-free and dairy-free diet.
Hereās another interesting fact: I can do a headstand.Ā Iāve also been consistently meditating for the last five years. Meditation has been one of my toughest habits to master. Iāve been journaling and working through my feelings since 2014. It was around the same time I began psychotherapy.Ā
Another interesting nugget about me: Iāve written two fictional novels that may or may not see the light of day.Ā These days, Iām raising a beautiful autistic boy, and inspiring women to fall in love with themselves.
One On One Coaching
The areas I can call myself an expert in:

Moving my body
Iāve been working out one way or another since my teenage years. In my 20s, I used to lift light weights, in my late 20s to early 30s, I used to be a runner. It was only after my child was born, I stopped doing any physical activity. These days, I lift heavy weights and do yoga.

Food
Iām a self-taught cook, but I enjoy cooking and often modify recipes to make delicious gluten-free and dairy-free food. Iām South Indian, so my culture inspires most of my recipes.

Raising an autistic child
When my kid was first diagnosed, it felt like I was lost in the woods without a compass. Google is not much help when it comes to autism. Finding the right therapies and schools, the best way to do this is by talking to other parents with children with special needs. I had to find the right schools and therapies suited for my kid in Chicago, IL, and Austin, TX.

Meditation and Journaling
Iāve been meditating and journaling since 2018. It took me years to make these a consistent habit. One of the most powerful meditations Iāve done is inner child meditation. My journaling practice has gone through many trials and errors. This practice helps me process my feelings.

Finding your creativity
Writing is the one thing that helps me keep sane. Iāve written a fantasy novel, and a romance novel. Working on them has helped me become a better writer. Even though Iāve never gotten to the point of publishing them, they taught me to work through my fears and self doubt. My next writing project is a memoir. Finding a project for the sake of fun is a necessity to live a joyful life.
