If you’re looking to generate leads you can’t go wrong with a webinar. These interactive live presentations are one of the best ways to share your knowledge and build trust with your audience.

They’re also an excellent way to generate leads and sales for your business.

So, how do you go about creating an engaging webinar that converts? There are actually a few simple steps you can take to build an awesome presentation that will grow your business.

Here are our top five webinar tips.

1. Come up with a compelling title

Before you earn any sales you first need to get people interested in your webinar. And one of the best ways to do that is with a strong title.

Focus on the specific problem your webinar will solve and tell people exactly what they’ll achieve by attending. Use your title to build excitement and make your presentation sound like a can’t-miss event.

Here are some examples of strong webinar titles:

  • How to Book Your First Freelance Photography Gig in a Week or Less
  • 3 Steps to Building a 6-Figure E-commerce Business
  • 5 Tips for Making Money as an Ebook Author (Even if You’re Not a Writer)

Grab their attention early

Remember that just because someone shows up at the start of your presentation doesn’t mean they’ll still be there at the end. They can leave at any point so don’t waste any time.

Avoid long introductions and instead, use the opening few minutes to reiterate the problem you’re going to solve for your audience and make sure they know why they should stick around. You can also tease your solution a bit and some of the benefits they’ll achieve.

After this, jump right into your presentation and keep the momentum going.

If you can grab their attention in the first five minutes they’ll be more likely to stick around for your entire webinar.

Deliver on your promises

This may sound obvious, but one of the best ways to build a high-converting presentation is to provide value.

Don’t promise your audience some miracle solution, then deliver something they could have found with a simple Google search.

Or even worse, reveal that your solution is actually something they’re going to have to pay for. Sure, your goal is to eventually get them to buy your products, but in order to do that you have to give them something for free first.

Use your experience and knowledge to offer them a unique and proven solution to their problem. Once you’ve shown you know what you’re talking about they’ll be much more willing to hear your sales pitch.

Finish with a strong call to action

A webinar is meant as an introduction to your brand, so after you’ve won your audience over with your presentation make sure you have a next step for them to take.

This call to action could be to:

  • Download a resource/guide
  • Book a demo
  • Start a free trial
  • Buy your product

Whatever item you choose to promote should be closely related to your presentation. Ideally, it will be the “next step” after implementing the knowledge they gained in your webinar.

Follow up with attendees after your webinar

Not everyone will be ready to take action right after your webinar… but that doesn’t mean they’re not interested. This is why it’s important to follow up with your leads after the presentation.

Be sure to send an email to all your guests after your webinar. You can include a recording of the presentation for future reference, ask them if they have any questions, and remind them of your CTA.

You should also add them to your regular email list so you can continue to provide value and hopefully convert them into paying customers.
